Before the insurance company shafts me...

Well, in the aftermath of the rain we got after Hurricane Michelle, my car
got flooded and was declared a total loss by State Farm, i.e., my insurance
company. Seeing as how often other listers are given a raw deal when their
cars are totalled, what do I need to do to make sure I don't suffer the same
fate?

The car in question is/was a 1992 urS4, ~73K mi. in stellar shape, with all
receipts, etc.

Any and all help will be deeply appreciated!
