You mean the shutter is slow to react to activation of the shutter
button?  Not that the shutter itself is slow?  I believe that's a "feature"
of all digital cameras.  If you want to take shots of some on-going
activity like the football game kickoff, you have to press the button
before the kicker's foot hits the ball in order to get a shot of the ball
leaving the kicker's foot.

If you want digitized photos for displaying on a website, you don't need a
gazillion megapixel product (like the Nikon that costs more than I paid for
the V8).  I have a Nikon 800 that I bought "new in the box" off e-bay for
less than half its original $800 pricetag just after it had been replaced
by the latest update.  The newer camera's slightly higher resolution and
better battery system aren't enough difference to be worth a bunch more
money to me.  It's great for things where you have all the time you need to
set up the photo like in detailing a repair, but it's difficult to use
reliably if you're like I am about enjoying "candid" photos at family
gatherings (I can't "sneak" shots as well as I could with 35mm and mild
tele lens),  or activity photos where you end up just missing the moment
you wanted to capture.  But at least you can "review" on the spot and
determine whether you got what you want and you can load it onto the
computer easier than using a scanner.   I got one of those devices you can
put the camera's medium into and load it into the computer without burning
up the camera batteries.
