Suggestion: Product reviews

In addition to the FAQ, a product review area could be a helpful resource
to the list/audifans website. A non-audi related example is:

http://www.harmony-central.com/user_reviews/

Obviously there are tons of products out there, but they could be
categorized by model and type etc. Then it wouldn't be necessary to
include 'aftermarket' product information within the FAQ, it could just be
linked to the relevant section. If the FAQ has a section on 5-cyl engines
in general, linked to subgroups by (turbo/non-turbo?), linked to
individual FAQs by engine code; then any exhaust manifold reviews could be
linked to the engines that they will fit, whether it is a whole subgroup
or a specific engine. Reviewers would then be able to point out any
problems they have had with product X due to their individual application,
(ie you'll have to relocate the power steering pump to use strut tower
brace X on model X) The product review could also include evaluations of
common non-'aftermarket' mods like the turbo-cam-in-the-NA-engine.
(Huw's evaluations of the Schrick and turbo cams is the inspiration
here)

Also, if the evaluations are updatable by the poster in the same
way as the Marketplace section of audifans.com, then longer-range evals
would be possible. Companies could also be rated, and if the posters
stick to their own experience and the truth, there shouldn't be too many
grounds for claims of libel or stuffing-the-ballot-box.

Just a suggestion, whether or not is feasible to implement it in its
entirety...
