quick question...temp gauge out

basically, yes, but it also alerts the big happy computer when you
overheat.  Hmmm, actually I think that is a separate function in that
same sender though, since that was my failure mode with a working
guage.  Last time it was a flaky gauge & no alert...

sender is about $40 new, you might consider trying to re-engineer the
connector set up so it doesn;t fill with goo and coolant and start to
short out (I will when I finally put my new one in, been running on
spares so far).  cleaning might help before replacement.
