You betcha!

I used stainless steel locknuts (NOT NYLOCKS!!!).  You need the locking nut
which has the turned down metal lip at the top.

~8k miles on the car since the engine swap.. no problems.
Cost about $1 each.  I got them from the fastener warehouse in Portsmouth NH,
but you can almost certainly get them from any decent supply house.
