The Clapper!
But seriously, if you really want to get involved with a fairly tiresome
wiring procedure... run fused power to each light through the pillars
and over the headliner (yeah, that sounds easy...) and hook up the
grounds to the door switch circuit of your choice. Each door has a
switch, I believe the switched grounds are all common to one another
(except the drivers door has a second for, um, the ignition buzzer? - oh
yes, for the power window timer cutout - so does the passenger door
switch, come to think of it - but I disconnected that one on my car)
you could try to get your hands on a wrecked car with these lights and
remove the harness, if enough interior junk has already been pulled it
shouldn't be too tough - and then you'll know how to hook it up in your
car.
I think the stock operation will run off the interior light timer (they
stay on until you either turn ont he ignition, lock the car, or the
timer runs out), if you are feeling truly adventurous!
