Urq Importation - CN

I'm in the process of determining if it's possible to import an urq from
the great white north.  According to the Feds:
(http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/can0010.html) one must first
"contact the manufacturer of the vehicle, and ask if the vehicle
complies with all applicable U.S. Federal motor vehicle safety standards
(FMVSS). The letter from the manufacturer must identify your vehicle by
the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)."

Have any of you obtained such a letter from Audi re an urq?   Would be
particularly interested in any BTDT's
