im gonna have to agree with chris...
Ive had a few mechanics tell me that the FIRST thing you should do with a
turbo car is get a turbo timer. Ive owned a whole bunch of cars, and my
5000 is the only one that is still piping hot after sitting off for =BD an
hour.
Unless the new turbo=92s (and their cooling systems) are so well designed t=
hat
they don=92t generate the same kinds or ammounts of friction/heat as the ol=
d
turbos do, it seems that the afterrun pump is very good, cheap insurance.
That =93leave your car running for 3 minutes=94 bs is the DUMBEST THING IVE=
EVER
HEARD IN MY LIFE.
If you have to leave your car running when you want to turn it off it=92s
BROKEN or wasn=92t designed properly in the first place. Duh. I still cant
believe that manual disclaimer is real. I wonder what audi/vw=92s service l=
ife
has been like on the 1.8 t turbos? With 99.9999999 % of owners not even
knowing it HAS a turbocharger, let alone an owners manual.
Turbo timers and afterrun pumps for all=85..
-jim =93just got back from the sf autoshow and was NOT impressed with vag a=
t
ALL, but really like the wrx and is300=94 rose
