possible list virus?

Folks-

Off-topic, but this is very strange and I know someone who knows
computers better than I will know what is going on here.

Something very strange just happened in my inbox. I received an email
from "_gg at peoplepc.com", supposedly from Greg Galinsky, in response to
the 4000 csq won't rev past 5000rpm" thread. However, a reponse to that
email address bounces. A check of the subscriber list on the audifans
website says that his email address is "gg at peoplepc.com", NOT
"_gg at peoplepc.com". WTF? The orginal email appears completely blank
until I repond to it and my mail program (Netscape 4.77's Communicator)
quotes the text from his blank email.

The strange part is that while in the original email there was nothing
no text, pictures, nothing, in the new email I was composing as a
reponse, an odd graphic pops up, looks kind of like a fancy illustration
of an icon for an html tag. Was it embedded in the email? Is this some
sort of virus or thing that probes my inbox? The tag's properties are:
iframe src=IMAP://pop.uvm.edu?fetch%3EUID%3E|INBOX%3E10&part=1.2
height=0 width=0.

Can someone please tell me what is going on here?

Thanks a lot!

Megan
