[Right, I figured that the center switch is +12V from
bat.
How does the car react if the the throttle switch
doesn't work? Mine doesn't work, but, to me since I
got this car recently and probably had the problem
since then, I can't tell since I can't compare it to
when the switch use to work. If the switch works, to
u get more power (ie, richer fuel). Does not have the
switch working increase gas comsumption?]
Kate,
If the idle switch is not closing, then you will not get proper idle speed
and enrichment control by the ECU. This would result in high idle, idle
bounce and general low speed drivability problems.
If the WOT(Wide Open Throttle) switch is not closing, then the ECU will not
provide proper enrichement needed for acceleration under peak load
condition. You may not notice there is a problem, and may actually see
improved gas mileage. The down side is the car wont be getting as much "go"
as it can, and there may be a risk of carbon deposits and/or burning the
valves. The WOT switch is more critical in turbocharged cars.
