Duncan,
I've owned an 87 5ks for ten years and an 89 100 for 7 years, both FWD with
automatic trans.  The 89 100 engine is similar to the earlier ones but an
improved version, likely the NF w/130 hp.

Should be quite similar to the 87 5ks you owned ... same transmission/diff,
same leak prone hydraulic system, etc., so no surprises.  Change the trans
fluid, and keep an eye on levels in both the AT and the diff.  The only
problem I've had with these transmissions is a leak from the round cover on
the right side of trans.  It can be fixed by replacing seals with the trans
still in the car.
