sound slike, unless you are power hungry, a nice used 88-89 or so 80 or
90 Quattro would be the way to go.
4k's are getting real old at this point and can easily require a *lot*
of tlc to make them nice, still they can be a bit "rattley". The
80/90's are beginning to be affordable ($2-4k) and are much nicer cars.
if 130 hp works for you they are the ticket.
if you feel the need for 160 hp, the 20 valve version gets you there,
but $ start to rise... for more, ie 200+ hp, dropping an MC turbo in a
4kq or better yet an 80/90Q will work - but be prepared for a lot of
work and a "flexible" budget to do it well.
