In a message dated 01-11-29 09:12:48 EST, you write:

<< they started building them in Feb. of 87, that would qualify as a 87.5
 and maybe even '88.
This workd in the way the '82 ur-qs sold as '83s....
The few built probably went to some grannys who never looks under the hood
and takes her car to Jiffy Lube for all repairs...
Do you look under the hood of every 4kq you see? Piss off any owners
 lately?

BTW the '87 Coupe was easier to spot with body colored mirrors and spoiler,
not to mention the rear disc brakes.
Did the 2.3 4kq look any different from the 2.2?

I was being funny - I meant that while the possibility might exist that the
2.3 quattro existed in the U.S., there are plenty of cars that are supposedly
not in existance - for example, my 86 GT with the digital dash, which is not
officially listed as an option other than the Comm. Ed, which mine is not. I
don't doubt that you got the letter, my point was that Audi claimed that the
2.3 wasn't going into the GT until 1988 (ie, the non-existant model year),
and therefore everything they say really has to be taken with a grain of
salt...

And whoever mentioned it, Yes, the FWD T85's are better handeling cars in the
dry than the Q's....this probably goes for the T89, as well...simple matter
of weight.

Later!
