most expensive nuts in the world (worth a read)

Ok, here's where the thread goes off on a tangent.....
The "nut" in this case being a tow truck driver.
The story started when a friend, and former co-worker, of mine locked the
keys into his '96 adnoH civiC and had to call a local garage to send a guy
out with a jimmie to get the door open. So the guy shows up, can't get the
door open after all his flailing.
OK, option #2, just tow it back to his house (not a very far tow) where his
other set of keys are and call it good. No problem says the driver. He
proceeds to load the car on the flat bed. Another friend was there in
another car, so they both hop in and head out with the tow truck following
them.... until they look in the rear view mirror a couple miles down the
road and the tow truck is much further back and pulling off the road......
They turn around and head back to see him lowering the bed to load the car
on again!?! This can't be good! Seems that Mr. Towman didn't secure the car
well enough and a bump in the road (on a slight bend) was enough to throw
the car from the bed, clean off, didn't slide down, no scrape marks, clean
4-5' drop straight to the pavement! Needless to say the car is not the same.
The trunk popped open and no longer closes, there are wrinkles in the
roof(!) line, the entire (brand new 2.5" SS mandrel bent) exhau$t system was
smashed up where nobody intended it to be, and numerous other signs of
physical disarray. So, not having much else to do they told the driver to go
ahead and load it again (after they said they were gonna have AAA tow it,
the tow truck driver piped in that he is(was) the AAA driver) to tow it off
to his garage.
So to cap it off as the guy is loading the car for a second time he dorks up
the alignment of the car to the bed and drags one of the brand new 17"
wheels up the side of the bed and managed to tear the sidewall as well as
destroy the rim.
Needless to say the car is now undoubtedly an insurance write off, I had
never heard of a car being totaled before 'cause someone locked their keys
in it...... first time for everything I suppose....
Later!
