[Ok I'm having an overboost problem with my '88 5ktq, I have a chip in it so
it will pull 1.8 bar. Now I'm starting to get an over boost condition. Where
should I start looking. Seems all I can find in the archives is low boost
problems, so I guess I'm lucky my car just wants to go faster, but that fuel
cut out is just a real drag! Any help or links would be great.

Good to hear the chip overboost protection is working properly.
Replace/repair lower wastegate hose. Don't assume it is good because it
looks and feels good. They usually fall apart completely when you go to
replace them.
Check for torn wastegate diaphragm - use mity vac to put suction on
wastegate port (mouth works ok too) - you should haer it lift then thunk
closed when it drops. If not -> torn wastegate diaphragm.
