headlight washer jets? (A/S4)

Did I miss the answer for the lister with a 98.5 A4?

He was asing about the 'heated' washer jets for the
headlight.

Anyway...

RE:  Light jets.  My understanding is that the
headlight jets will only function if your lights are
on.

RE:  Heated.  I'm actually guessing the heat comes
from the engine bay?  Anyone?  Don't recall seeing a
heating element right there?!

I'd go outside and try it, but it's cozy on the sofa.
