If your 4K is a 4-cylinder model, then the transmission type is 013
(this is found stamped on the trans housing, just above the passenger
side inner CV flange.  In addition, there is a two-letter code identifying
the gear ratios.  For an 83, it is either a MV, 2M or QJ.  This is found
on another label near the type code location, along with the date of
manufacture.
