Run, run away as fast as you can!  The cost of a rebuilt tranny will, in all
liklihood, be more than the value of the resulting finished car.  I've
worked on these things since the days of the 100LS, and those were the LAST
VAG products with a reliable auto tranny until the tippers.  Even the T4s of
the early 70s had problems.  Most reputable auto tranny rebuilders won't
even do 'em, especially the shops that used to do so.  HTH, John
