extreme camber

hello!  my plan is to get some lowering springs.  the wheel well on the
1988 Audi 90 fwd is quite large and homely so i would like to reduce it.
i am getting new 16 or 17 inch rims and the low profile tires.  h&r or
eibachs are also coming. but thier website says the only springs
avaliable for the car is a drop of 1.4-1.5 inches.  im afraid that just
isnt enough!  ive seen some pretty low audis out there...how did you do
it?  

ok now to the point.  if i lower it much, will i need a camber plate
kit?  i do not want any excessive wear on my new expen$ive tires!!
