extreme camber

If you want to do this right (i.e. improve the handling characteristics of
your car in addition to changing the asthetics) then there are a few more
things you really need to address when doing this work.
First, your new springs have a higher spring rate than OEM springs, so you
should invest in struts that match these new spring rates. Blistein, Koni,
Boge, et. all make struts that are designed for these new springs.
Second, control arm bushings and strut mount bearings are parts that will
inevitably wear on your car. If you are going to have the suspension apart,
now would be the ideal time to replace these things. Ball joints are
another possible wear item. In some cases, replacing these worn parts can
improve the cornering characteristics of your car more than new struts and
springs can.
Finally, this kind of suspension work should be accompanied with a complete
alignment. Lowering the car will introduce additional negative camber,
which may not have desireable effects on tire wear and the cornering
characteristics of your car. When you consider the price of a new set of
tires, the cost of a complete alignment by a professional is really
insignificant.
I really believe that compromising on any of the above items will undermine
any investment you make in your car's supension. If it sounds like I know
what I am talking about, then the credit goes to the other members of this
list that gave me the exact same advice when I asked your question last
year!
P.S. 1.4" actually makes a significant visual difference. You can either go
with a slightly higher profile tire to close the gap more (make sure the
tires aren't rubbing with your fenders) or consider an adjustable coil over
setup which will allow you to adjust the height of the car.
