Well, two things that you could do. First, what I did, was find an old
spring or two that are about the same size as the inside of the hose, and
work them into the straight section of the hose to support it.
The other thing you could do is to take the hose, cut some of the middle
section out, find a piece of copper pipe that will fit the inside diameter
of the hose, and use a hose clamp on each end to hold the rubber ends onto
the pipe.
Good Luck!

I just discovered that the breather tube, one that connects the crankcase to
the intake, has collapsed. It's S-shaped, wider and flattened at the
crankshaft end, narrower and round at the other end. Contacted Audi - they
changed the design and now sell a metal tube plus two rubber fittings for
about $130.
Has anyone dealt with this problem before? I would just buy a length of
rubber tube if not for the fact that one end is wider than the other. Is
there any reason for this. Any suggestions how to deal with the problem
without spending big $$$? Thanks.
Radek.
