This note is for consolation purposes only!
I myself am new to Audis and have no clue for a similar problem.
My 1990 A80Q, Calif, 135k, will have the engine light come on after anywhere
from 5 to 20, even 30 minutes of normal drive; tends to come on sooner
when driving harder.

Diagnostics show no error code(s.) O2 sensor was replaced, fuel pump and
filter was replaced, using premium gas... Some suggested to check and
adjust
air/fuel mix and perhaps the timing.

Best of luck,
Tony.

Anybody have an idea on this? The engine light in my 1993 90 CS Quattro
likes to come on whenever I'm on the freeway. It comes on most frequently
whenever I'm coasting after an intense acceleration like passing more than
one car or entering the freeway via the onramp. My car just hit 90K last
week and I had it tuned up for the next 30-40K this last weekend. I had
my mechanic friend hook it up to his computer and also test the O2 sensor
just incase and he couldn't find anything. I am using good premium fuel
and I have checked everything else that I can figure. It's not a short
because it's a consistent problem. Any ideas? Incidentally I recently
added a Porsche aftermarket exhaust system, could this be something? Let
me know what your experiences or thoughts are. Thanks
