I removed mine, as I gave up trying to fight all the
stuff behind there. In fact I couldn't even remove
the wiring harness from the switch very easily. It
was not very hard to remove. I think on one of them
the shear bolt actually came out intact. I'm sorry,
it's been years since I did that job. I think I
accessed everything by removing the steering wheel and
instrument cluster.
