Dashlights don't come on with headlights.

The question was; are there any relays that need to be replaced. The
answer was no, but check the license plate bulbs.

I doubted the solution put forward by some members because both license
plate bulbs lit up, but one was dull. With nothing to lose I disassemble
it, cleaned with a wire brush, coated liberally with dialectic grease,
reassembled, and viola, dash lights come on with headlights. Thanks
again.

Tomorrow night I'll try to follow Huw's procedure to correct the coolant
temperature gauge which doesn't even register air temperature :-)
