stock shift light?

hey list.  i was parked in the driveway at high noon and the light hit
the dash just right to see what all the lights had behind them.  there
are 12 blocks for lights but i could only see about 8. the manual shows
it has the same 12 "blocks" but only 7 lights.  hmm i say this *up
pointing* arrow light but had never seen it in function.  seems like a
shift light, again the manual shows nothing like this. what is this
arrow? thanks a bunch
