5K radiator in a CGT???

[passat TS]

I have a leak on my CGT radiator.

I also have a 5K radiator sitting in my garage.

The logic is:

If I use 5K hoses(I have to buy new ones anyway), a 5K fan shroud(boneyard), 
and find a way to fix the radiator in place(I might have to create brackets) 
it could work.

Is it possible? or should I scrap this idea and buy a new CGT radiator.
