Brendan, the fog light is an extra bulb in the brake light housing, 
normally on the driver side of the vehicle.  When it's on, it looks like 
your opposite brake light has failed because it looks like your tail lights 
and the driver brake light are on.  When you activate the brakes, of 
course, three more lights come on.
