S4 calipers on an A4

No, they're not a direct bolt on. You'll need the
calipers, rotors, caliper carriers and perhaps the
hubs as well. Bear in mind that you'll NEED 17"
wheels to clear the S4 calipers and that even some 17"
wheels won't fit properly.
The better way to go for larger brakes is to use the
rotors off of the A8. They bolt right on. You keep
your stock calipers and use the caliper carriers from
a TT quattro. I have these brakes on my '97 A4 and
they made a remarkable difference. You need at least
16" wheels to clear these.
Another option is the BIRA stage 1 kit, which uses the
A8 rotor and the Porsche boxster calipers. You can
clear these with some 16" wheels and most 17" wheels.
However, bang for the buck is the A8/stock caliper
setup.
