If you mean an 81 4000 (no q until M.Y. 1984), yes it will fit, but the
81 probably has a few extra clip holes for the early style side moldings
that you'll need to fill up.  The later cars used glue-on moldings without
clips.  Also the plastic bumper bracket/guide is likely to be different too.
