Transmission problem, clunks into reverse '90 100

For the last few weeks my 100 has clunked as reverse is engaged (automatic). 
Now it seems that when warm it doesn't engage reverse until rpm is up around 
1500. There is now a more substantial clunk. Am I in trouble, or is there an 
adjustment?
