Alternator Bearing Part No. trouble

    Avi,

Thanks for taking an interest in my troubles, however I must point out
that in the UK if nowhere else you can walk right into an Audi dealer and
order just about any part for your alternator, from a spring washer to a set
of brushes, or bearings, or exchange rotor and bearing sub assembly. It has
to said that Bosch are famous for being very mean with their service support
and spares availability but you can get the parts at Audi, -as I said in the
original post I already obtained what is supposed to be the right part from
them, only problem is its for a different alternator than mine!

As far as the economics goes, if I had had the right part available I
would at this point have a rebuilt alternator right now for about 50GBP, and
had the pleasure of knowing I had a quality job with the right quality parts
which is my motivation behind doing all the work myself on my cars except
paint.

Thanks for trying to help though

    Regards

rob
