[LAC] Tommi Makkinen is switching sides!

     Well it seems the world of WRC is going to change a little bit.  Tommi
has just signed a 2-year contract with Subaru/Pro-Drive starting with the
2002 season.  Speculation is that current Subie driver Burns will go
Peugot.  Tommi has be the poster child for Mitsubishi / RalliArt for many
years.

[MAC]  Team RallyPlex continues to have major suspension woes and will be
prevented from running the season closer at LakeSuperior this weekend.
Finding replacement parts for the works struts/uprights proved
insurmountable and so the team contacted to Moriss Dampers in MI to build a
completely new system.  Unfortunately the Moriss system proved not up to
the task of suspending such a heavy car and we then looked to DMS and their
60mm Monster Strut.  Despite assurances from Jamie Drummond (owner of DMS)
that all would be ready for LSPR the suspension is not yet complete, let
alone shipp'd from Australia.  We're out of this race.
     The team owner wants to race seriously in 2002 and has at least
thought about how to run the whole season; but odds are good a new car will
be part of that plan.  As a result the S2 will most likely be sold.  More
news to come when confirmed.
