Jay, sounds like you will have a really strong motor, but you will be running
effective static compression in the 6.5:1 range if you used the MC piston
with the 20v head. The 20v head has a 40cc comb. chamber vs. 29cc in the 10v.

MC's pistons have a very fat top ring land and are quite beefy. basicaly an
overbuilt engine. I would see no problem with them being in a 400hp engine
(without detonation) The rod journals are big/strong. The manifolds hold
these motors back. The rods should be good to 500hp (no detonation)
The 20v has smaller rod journals (weaker) than an MC. I am almost positive
the 10v and 20v rods are the same length. 4 valve heads flow ~140cfm vs
2valve @ ~120cfm. So a decent port job on an mc would outflow a stock 4v
head. but of course a ported 20v would be much better. Manifolds make all
the difference power & torque wise.
So i took the best of both engines. Its been called a bastard engine but Its
cheaper and stronger than any normal 20vt so why not ? ? ?
ANY audi motor should handle 300hp w/o any problems as long as there is fuel
and no detonation >>
