Yo, if it is anything like my 1986 5kcsq, the right rear speakers have what Bill Gerwig, a great Audi tech, called a floating ground.  To defeat it, just leave the ground unplugged for that set of speakers.
Have fun wiring everything.  It's best to use your old radio for parts.  You can sauter some of the stuff, and use wire splices for the rest.
