Replacing Flywheel

Having just done this in the wagon over the summer, I have some things I
remember. On the type 44, you have a pair of sensors that read pins off the
back of the flywheel. You have to be VERY careful installing the motor or
trans IF they have been left in. Also if he is getting a no start
condition, pull the codes and verify that you arent getting an error code
for one of those sensors. I cant remember if it will run with either one
bad or or if they both have to be good.

Good luck

Rob

Its not keyed, but as Alex says, the bolt holes are in an asymetrical
"circle", so they will only line up one way, it is almost imperceptable to
the eye, and you may be able to force it, but if you do it right, with no
clearance issues, it will only bolt up one way. One of the pins may have
not
been replaced, or put in the wrong place possibly?

The
trigger pin is on the back, at least in the picture, and AFIK wasn't
removed. Bentley stresses marking it before removal, but this guy is out
in
the sticks and didn't know any better. John
