valve seals?

When I did the seals on my coupe (2.1 l, solid lifters though), parts
cost was about $20.  I adjusted the vlave lifters and pretended to check
the compression and leakdown at the same time, wasted about 8 hours on
the job.  Oil consumption went down about a third.  

remember that oil can get lost through the rings, too...
