Even the Bose in the new A4/S4/A6 sucks, IMHO. A lot better than
the systems in our cars, but it still sucks. I have not heard a good
Bose system yet, home or car.

When did you get the adapter? I couldn't find one when I upgraded-
checked Crutchfield, several local stores (including the big chains)
and contacted a couple places that manufacture the stuff- Metra was
one.

Alexander put a very nice system in his 90 for minimal money, so
it doesn't have to get very expensive- he found a source for Focal
speakers for very cheap.

You could get the Alpine F#1 Status head unit and it will still sound
crappy playing through the Bose system. Have you listened to what can
be done for a relatively low amount of money? If I could have made that
drive in Westchester, you could have heard it firsthand. I just need
some
smoother tweeters and a small sub to make it sound incredible- will
replace my Boston tweets eventually with Focal or a/d/s tweeters.
