And when that bolt works its way all the way out, your timing belt seems
to stop spinning due to the bolt falling into the crankshaft pulley....
causing 5 bent valves :(

Hi, Greg. Is your leak in the front of the motor? I had a major leak in
my 4kq for a while until someone on the list suggested I sprinkle baby
powder where I see fresh oil. I tried it, dousing the area around the
water pump behind the timing belt cover. I started the car and was able
to trace the leak to one of the bolts that holds the crankshaft pulley
cover on. It also is an oil pump bolt and seals off an oil galley. Check
there. It's hard to see cause its tucked in between the idler pulley and
the crank pulley.
