Q-Phile,

Among some Avant upgrades I plan to install new struts and possibly springs.

I don't mind the stock ride height, but between the stock ride cush and
accumulated miles on my two '87 TQWs ~150kmi each, it is time to replace.

I had my sights set on Bilstiens, but am wondering how the Koni Specials
compare to the Bilstien Heavy Duty struts, especially since the Tire Rack
does not carry the Bilstiens (I know Shox.com does - just comparing and
pricing unscrupulously ).

Also,  is my recollection correct that the Avant take different rear struts
thatn the sedan?
