Yes. As I said, one of the 'Nullserie' that was loaned to Stern was an NA
diesel. My local taxi drivers (thought they'd be the people to ask) say
there are still a couple of TDIs running round here, but they say the
service was the weak point. Most taxis in Germany are D-B, and they have
special 'Droschke' departments in some of the main agents that aim to get
the car back on the road in minutes.
Speaking of which - I've been working on a 'hot engine' cylinder head off
procedure - the same steps as before but in a different order so you work on
the cold bits first.
And also - I'm probably going to buy the 1991 Type 44 I mentioned here a few
days ago, for parts. I'm going to bolt all the parts back together, stick
some new parts in (a Scott Mockry ECU) and DRIVE IT LIKE THE CLAPPERS!
