A friend showed me a similar expansion tank he picked up at a retail
Pep-boys type store. It was made in China, but it had the separate
chamber for the non-integrated level sender. Haven't seen this style
tank since the cars were new. He's taking it back as he's had the
integrated sender tank as long as he can remember. At +/- $35 for an OEM
replacement tank, I'd pass on the "Made in China" ones for now. They are
improving, but past experience with Chinese (Japanese too) Audi parts
have me leary of giving them another chance for now. Their struts,
shocks and bearings are JUNK, they're cheap and thus the favorite of Used
Car Dealers who want the car to make it past the warranty, period.
