Hi all,
I got some part numbers for the 2 piece exhaust manifold from the
archives, and called Carlsen. Didi wasn't there, but the gentleman that
answered the phone said he would quote me discounted prices. They
sound about right. However, the last part number he said was not a
good one. I don't know which part numbers are for what pieces. Maybe
someone here knows what the last part number is.
Here are the part numbers and prices I got in u.s. $$:
034 129 591 AC 404.95
034 129 592 266.40
034 129 933 (2 required) 12.78
034 129 995 (2 required) 6.34
034 129 903 42.57
034 145 880 ?????
The total of the parts I could price is $733.04
This isn't a bad price if it is the last of the EM problems, and also if it is
a performance increase over the single piece one, which I believe it to
be. I wish Jeff G. still had his page up with the beautiful pic of the 2
piece he had.
I'm considering buying a used Dialynx manifold for $350. It is cheap
enough to tempt me to get it, so I am. I am definitely not without
concern for the fitment and reliability issues brought up by Phil and Jim.
Hey, that's an appliance store in Cali, I think, "Phil & Jim's". hehe,
anyway
Does anyone know what that last part number is, and why it may not
have worked? I read him the numbers over the phone, and we went over
the last one a couple times. I couldn't see what he was typing tho'.
I figure I will need two manifolds, and I don't want to try to use the stock
single piece ones. One for my 5kcstq and one for the 4kstq project. I'll
probably get the 2 piece for the 4kstq project. If there are fitting issues,
I'll deal with them in the larger engine bay.
The price I was quoted for the cryogenic treatment of the manifold is
$85. If I got the 2 piece, I'd probably still want to do the cryo treatment.
Thanks,
Ken
