016 tranny power and torque handling

Hi fellow listers!

As I'm in the process of chosing what conversion I will be doing in my car
(85 Coupe quattro, same as 4kq except it's a coupé) and I've just read a
post on the audicoupe.de forum from a guy that said that the 016 US-code
gearbox (4kq-NA cq) would be able to handle the power of a chipped 20vt
engine and 350Nm of torque (a stock 3B has 309 Nm)...
What do you guys think? I've been on track in a 90q20v with a modded 3B in
it that ran absolutely great, actually the right word for this car is
BRUTAL, it has a 282HP ECU and stock boost pressure, plus a complete SS
exhaust without the cats. Would I need to modify the pilot bearing to fit my
gearbox? Would it ever fit?
As a matter of fact 3B engines are pretty cheap around here (in Germany) and
I'd love to have such a beast in my own car...plus it has ridiculous fuel
consumption (about 37mpg at constant 85mph and 35mpg at 95mph!!!!) so this
would also be an option but I don't want to go torsen so I'd rather stick
with my stock gearbox and a reinforced clutch...
Any BTDT's? Advice anyone?

TIA and best regards from Belgium,

Mihnea Cotet
