Correct. And quite thirsty at that. I guess the engine used in the Merkur
wasnt introduced in Europe because of the Cosworth.

They are not that rare, parts are easy to get. Parts are expensive though. It
would actually be harder for me to get an Audi 200 engine than a Sierra
Cossie engine!

They did use a T3. See below.

The 1st gen. Sierra RS Cosworth used a Garrett TO3, as did the Escort RS
Turbo . The Sierra ran 9 psi boost, while the Escort ran 7 psi. The 2nd
generation Sierra Cosworth had a TO3B unit.
The later Escort RS Cosworth (Mk5 model, replaced the Sierra) used a Garrett
T3/TO4 hybrid charger. This was replaced by a smaller model on the 95 models,
but I cant find that info right now.
