Filters should be changed every change. Reasons:
If your on the lift, why not?
There is approximately 0.5 - 0.7 liters of contaminated oil (out of about
4.5) still inside the filter, thus circulating acified oil through the
sump immediately, rather than after many start/stop cycles. Why allow
this oil to circulate? It's not a question of particulates, its mor a
chemistry issue.
