See previous post. I don't know if the latest V6 (the 4.0) is a decendant
of the orignal 2.6 Cologne V-6 (originally imported in gen 1 Capri's,
then it grew to 2.8, the rest, is history.) FYI, if I recall correctly,
the V-6 started life as a V-4 industrial generator motor, which was also
installed in some European Fords (including Capri) and in the Saab 95
(wagon) and 96 series as the optional upgrade motor from the I-3 two
stroke.
