K26 efficiency

Well, sure, many consider the K24 an "upgrade" to the K26, but it depends how
you look at it...turbo charging, as in camshaft design, suspension design, or
all areas of automotive application, is a compromise between different
results. There is no such thing as the perfect turbo, there is a turbo that
is the best compromise between different factors.

That compromise in the K24 is a trade for faster spool up, giving up flow in
return. So, if you are looking for hp under 225 and essentially no turbo
lag, the K24 is a good choice. IME, max boost past 12psi or so in the 10v is
diminishing return- the K24 trading pressure for heat and restriction past
that point. Granted, a larger IC will help offset the intake air temp
increase, but the small AR ratio and turbine size are relatively restrictive,
and power past 5500rpm will be severely compromised compared to the K26. Due
to the K24's smaller dimensions, about 30% smaller, it will limit it to a
good low rpm performer, giving that torquey, fast response feel

Now that we got the poop on the K26 (thank you!), how about the same for the
 K24...............

 TIA

 Take care,
