I autobody shop should be able to fix the tabs with a plastic weld, or
other bonding agent.
Call and ask...

Subject: Fixing 4kq front bumper

Hi folks,
I've been offered(for free) a perfect condition front bumper cover that
is separated from the metal bumper beam. Unfortunately, a number of the
"squeeze tabs" that normally hold the front of the cover to the bumper
beam are broken.

Is this thing useless, or can I securely reattach it?

Options that come to mind:
1) Bolt it by drilling holes where the license plate bracket might
normally go, and then cap the bolts
2) Use some sort of adhesive.
3) Forget the whole idea

Because the bumper is NOT drilled for a license plate, I'd love to just
"glue" it. However, the requirements for an acceptable adhesive prolly
include:
--ability to fill large gaps or voids;
--flexiblity over a large temp range(-20 deg F to 100 deg F); --bonding
to EPDM(ethylene propylene diene monomer) the bumper material; --bonding
to aluminum(that is the metal of the bumper beam, yes?); --low cost,
prolly because I'll have to use a fair bit.

Any suggestions or BTDTs? Time for the chemists to chime in.

Look forward to your list replies.
