86 4kq rear center diff mount r&r question

Hello All,
    I am in the process of replacing my rear center diff mount, and ran
into a snag.  The bushing I have doesn't need to be pressed into the
diff bracket, I can slip it righ in.  Is this correct?  I spent 2 hours
with a flame wrench and hammers getting the old one out, and the Bentley
shows installation of a new bushing requiring a press.  Anyone have any
BTDT's on this particular bushing replacement.  I could only find one pn
on the family album, so I am a bit puzzled about the bushing that I have
now.
