the best solution is to get the dash, glove box and center console
(optional?), and switchgear with connectors and some wire from an 85-87
"disposable" vehicle and swap them in.  The later dashes don't seem to
suffer like the early ones, and look a lot better as well.

it's a pita to do the wiring, but there is some guidance at my web
site.  a very worth while project.
